Wizard World 2016 Wrap Up
A highlight for me was a visit from Judge Reinhold. He purchased several prints and greeting cards, was truly supportive and graciously posed for a picture.
Wizard World Comic Con Austin was a great show on many levels. Wonderful support and purchases from attendees and the opportunity to visit with friends, fellow artists and fans, both returning and new.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to stop by and visit! The artist alley area was jam packed with talent. Here are just a few of some that I know and a few I had the privilege of meeting for the first time. Be sure and visit their links to see how great they really are and support their efforts:

Bob’s Burgers Hawk & Chick Variant
A very special variant of my “Hawk and Chick: Monster Slayers” print is now available through Gallery 1988. This limited edition of 25 includes the signatures of Keisuke Hoashi and Suzy Nakamura, the voice actors of Hawk and Chick.
The variant stands out from the original by including two additional Kaijus in the distance, as well as a “Chet” chop in the lower right area.
Keisuke and Suzy were so gracious to join in on this fun and I owe a huge debt of thanks to them both. The event couldn’t have happened without the efforts of fellow artist Eugene Kaik, who also created a wonderful Hawk and Chick variant the actors signed. Thanks also to Jensen Karp and Amber of Gallery 1988 and the folks at Bob’s Burgers for making it a reality.

San Diego Comic Con 2016
Our Small Press table for San Diego Comic Con 2016. Complete with Ryan Claytor photo bomb accessory. We had a wonderful time catching up with friends and fellow vendors as well as meeting lots of new awesome attendees. Thank you everyone for a great and prosperous event! Here are a few photos from the exhibit floor.
Hands down the most effective and popular display on the floor was the Walking Dead lineup. Many of the figures looked so lifelike you expected them to blink and move.
Sideshow Collectibles was across from our location and always brings the wow factor with their collection of statues.
A lot of fun cosplay wandered by over the course of the show.
Great friend and supporter Jeff Vaca. What’s in the box? I’ll never tell!
The crowds went wild as the cast of Suicide Squad, led by Will Smith, entered the exhibit floor and greeted the screaming crowd from the DC balcony.
Fellow exhibitor Jim Clark hired me to create a steampunk frog themed banner for his booth. He proudly poses next to his “ChetArt.”
On Friday I received a pleasant surprise as the fantastically creative Chogrin stopped by with his son to say hello. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Chogrin on a number of gallery shows, but up until now we had never met.
We have the best neighbors in Small Press. Across from us is the incredibly talented and funny Paul Friedrich.
Ryan Claytor of Elephant Eater comics creates comics goodness and a flair for pinball flavored fun. He’s also an expert level 5 ninja photo bomber.
Shing Yin Knor, a.k.a. Sawdust Bear creates work that is detailed, beautiful and infused with lots of humor.
Liana Hee completed her first SDCC in Small Press to great success. I caught this picture as Josh Shalek, another Small Press hero was visiting.
Our great friends and infinitely creative duo Cesare and Kirstie of Curio Co. We were so happy to have them next to us again this year. They have raised the bar for success with an exciting Hollywood deal that’s in the works. Watch their space for an upcoming movie based on one of their books.
Thank you to all the fans and great supporters who came by to make this year a giant success for ChetArt!
