Mark populates the town he dubs “Marwencol” with dolls representing his friends and family and creates life-like photographs detailing the town’s many relationships and dramas.

What begins as a form of therapy for both the physical and emotional trauma of his attack soon develops into something much more.

From the artist’s biography:  “The ambrotype process (from Greek ambrotos, “immortal”) or amphitype is a photographic process that uses the wet plate collodion process to create a negative photographic image on a sheet of glass using whick looks as a positive image when put upon a black background. It was invented by Frederick Scott Archer in 1851.”
