Taking Austin Books’ birth year, 1977, as their inspiration, twenty-three talented artists will help pay tribute to the legendary comic book store via limited edition prints and original artwork. For the “Spirit of ’77” show, I created 2 pieces celebrating 2 pop culture icons from the year 1977. Saturday Night Live’s Samurai Delicatessen skit with John Belushi and Chewbacca from Star Wars.
