The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show “Turtles in Time,” sponsored by Nickelodeon and curated by Chogrin, opens Friday, October 3rd at Bottleneck Gallery in Brooklyn. My contribution for the show is the second in a series of Samurai Turtle Warriors. This Giclee print has been transformed into a monoprint with gold leafing pen details.
If you’re in San Antonio this weekend, be sure to attend the Alamo City Comic Con. ChetArt will be there in the small publisher’s section near Artist Alley, booth 819.
Earlier this year I took part in a tribute art show to the films of Joe Dante and Roger Corman, titled “The Kings of Cult.” My tribute to Roger Corman was based on his classic “The Pit and the Pendulum” starring the great Vincent Price. Thanks to the stellar promotional efforts of The Hero Complex Gallery, news of my piece found its way to Victoria Price, Vincent’s daughter. She was developing a signature line of wines with the Edgar Allan Poe theme that her father was so famous for with his unforgettable performances. After providing some compositional adjustments and the title, I transformed my original piece into the “Bartolome Red” label. Also in the collection are the artistic talents of Gris Grimly, Abigail Larson and Aaron Lea.

Hero Complex Gallery presents “Strong to the Finich! An Official Popeye Tribute Art Show” with an opening on Friday September 5th. I’m proud to be a part of this great event, celebrating the 85th anniversary of the squinty-eyed, spinach eating icon. The show is curated by Chogrin and is in collaboration with King Features Syndicate. My contribution (above) is titled: “South Seas Popeye.”
