December 13th-14th marks the 13th year of this Austin holiday shopping tradition. I’m proud to be a part of this year’s Cherrywood Art Fair. The Blue Genie Art Bazaar is an Austin holiday shopping institution. This year over 200 artists will have their creations displayed within their personally designed booths. The event runs every day from 10AM-10PM starting on November 28th and running through till 6PM on Christmas Eve. I’m proud to be a part of Blue Genie with my 3rd year of selling. I had the pleasure of supplying 16 portraits of famous literary figures in the guise of dogs for “Classic Poetry for Dogs: Why Do I Chase Thee.” The talented Jessica Swaim expertly expands on my series concept Literary Pets series trading cards with her own hilarious character bios. In addition, the book is filled with her outrageously clever poems with a decidedly canine twist. She has a wonderful talent for crafting puns. Published and beautifully packaged by Gibbs Smith, it’s 88 pages of fur-faced fun for dog and poetry lovers alike.

Join me along with dozens of great artists for this month’s Austin Flea. The setting is the fantastic Spider House Ballroom located at 2906 Fruth St. Featuring a performance by HoneyPunch, the event runs from 11-5.
The 2nd annual Austin Craft Riot summer show was a big success. Loads of crowds passed through the Austin Music Hall to shop, eat and enjoy the great music. The ChetArt booth was designed with a hands off approach this time around. I floated in the background, allowing elbow room and privacy for folks to pick and choose their favorites. There are so many amazing people in our newfound home of Austin and I was honored to meet them over the weekend and receive their great support. A big thanks to the ACR board members, planners, volunteers and to all who came out for this great event.
