Beware The Moon Signed Print
Earlier this year I had the pleasure of being a part of the Hero Complex Gallery art show paying tribute to the great work of special effects makeup artist Rick Baker. For the show I created my take on “An American Werewolf in London” titled “Beware the Moon.” I was honored and pleased to have a print from the edition arrive back to the studio with a personalized signature from Rick, who attended the opening.

Guzu Gallery presents “Strange Beasts 3”: A Tribute to Kaiju & Japanese Pop Culture
The opening reception will be on Friday, November 20th from 7 to 10pm and the artwork will remain up through New Year’s Day. Limited edition prints and original artwork will be available for purchase. There will be a bone-crushing, live musical performance by Austin rock instrumentalists, Beast of Dean…and the Bedlam City Kaiju Safety Commission will be on hand to give us a rundown of safety precautions, battle techniques, and what-not-to-do’s in the event of a kaiju attack! Following the presentation will be a screening of Kaijutsu by director Adriel Jimenez. As always, admission is free and all ages are welcome!
My two contributions are titled “Assault on Tokyo” and “Terror on the Moon,” paying tribute to Godzilla (piloting a Mothra pedal car) and MechaGodzilla (piloting a Rodan pedal car.) Both will be available as signed limited edition prints plus framed versions at the gallery and later through the gallery’s online shop.

Crazy 4 Cult 9- Gallery 1988
“Darko Strangelove” by Chet Phillips
Opening Friday, November 20th at Gallery 1988 (West) in LA: Crazy for Cult 9, paying tribute to a host of cult movies. For my contribution, I mashed up Donnie Darko with Doctor Strangelove. It pays homage to the iconic Major “King” Kong’s atomic bomb ride substituting Frank with the dreaded falling airplane turbine engine. Signed limited edition prints will be available at the gallery and later in the online shop.

No Ghost Logo Art Show
“Muertos Buster” by Chet Phillips
Chogrin presents “No Ghost Logos: Artists From Around the World Take On the Ghostbusters Logo.” This is a special 1 night art event happening on Friday, October 30th @ Creature Features Art Gallery (Burbank). The show will pay tribute to the classic Ghostbusters “NO-GHOST” logo and the man behind it, Michael C. Gross. 30 artists were invited by Chogrin to do their own interpretation of the Ghostbusters logo. All sales from the art sold will be donated to a cancer foundation (to be announced soon). All thirty pieces have been collected into a promotional poster (below.)
My contribution combines the familiar logo pose with a Day of the Dead character titled “Muertos Buster.” Each piece will be presented and for sale as a print on wood at the show. Visit the official event’s tumblr page HERE.
