Literary Pets Calendar

Half Price Books has just released their official 2011 calendar in stores and online, featuring 12 of the Literary Pet portraits.

Characters from a selection of the Literary and Artistic Pets have been combined to make a new fun quiz on Sporcle, a site chock full of memory testing, trivia inducing fun.

Literary Pets

Coming this fall from Half Price Books: a “Literary Pets” calendar. Twelve of my dog and cat as famous author portraits will adorn the interior, complete with the accompanying text I wrote for each. A calendar cover was commissioned however the above color cover will be relegated to a sepia version for their final product.

Jeff de Boer is a Calgary-based multi-media artist with an emphasis on metal. He is best known for creating suits of armor for cats and mice. Bring it on, neighborhood dogs!

It’s a hot summer Friday and everyone should follow Brodie’s lead and take it easy. Who could argue with this example of lazy bliss?

Wrestle Pets Limited Edition Book

This book of Lucha Libre Wrestle Pets includes 20 dog and cat wrestler portraits along with corresponding humorous biographical information. It includes the original 15 from the trading card set plus five rookies. Each book has been digitally printed on 80 lb Cougar Opaque text and handsomely handbound here in the Dancing Cat Bindery with yellow 100% cotton thread in the pamphlet book style.The cover is Classic Columns Solar White over Red Pepper. A purple metallic foil stamp image of the Wrestle Pets logo adorns the cover label.

Growth Chart

Like some version of the effects of Alice in Wonderland’s “Drink Me” potion, this set of photos shows Brodie’s growth progress over a few months. His favorite cubby hole in my studio was soon left behind for much more expansive areas.

Spring Is In The Air

You know it’s getting close to spring with the annual “lazy rolling in the sea oats straw” event. This handsome, albeit somewhat portly, orange gentleman goes by the name of Brodie. He’ll make an appearance on this blog from time to time. For now, consider this video a tonic against the recent foul weather events we’ve all been experiencing. Move over Punxsutawney Phil!
