Saturday November 15th marks the annual Etsy Dallas Jingle Bash Holiday Market. ChetArt will be represented among the dozens of talented artists for this fun selling event. Show runs from 11Am-5PM. If you’re in the area, put it on your “to do” list for a fun day of gift shopping. See the list of artists here.

Jingle All The Way

The ChetArt booth set up and ready to go, moments before the doors opened to throngs of shoppers at this year’s Etsy Dallas “Jingle Bash” show.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to visit and shop at yesterday’s 4th Annual “Jingle Bash” show sponsored by Etsy. We experienced a solid round of shopping all day long. Though it felt like sales were equal from past shows, at the end of the day we surpassed all other past Etsy Dallas events by almost double the success. Couldn’t have done it without so many friendly  and supportive local shoppers.

It was great fun having good friends stop by to show their support and meet and make a whole new set of friends. The sale of a “Simon and Barkfunkle” signed print was one particularly fun standout moment. The buyer has plans to gift the print to her good friends…Paul Simon and his wife Edie Brickell.

Next Saturday, November 19th marks the 4th annual Jingle Bash show. I’ll have a booth brimming over with items represented in my online shop that includes signed prints, limited edition books, trading card sets, pins, buttons, games, 2012 calendars and more. If you’re in the Dallas area, mark your calendars and attend this fun event.

The Magic Lantern

This weekend marks the release of the summer blockbuster The Green Lantern. Perhaps in an alternate universe somewhere down the wormhole there’s a similar event for our intrepid Superlative Hero “The Magic Lantern.” Presented in glorious sepia tones with wondrous “SteamMax” effects. Here’s a bit of background on our hero:

“Part skilled magician, part necromancer and known for the supernatural device he wielded, The Magic Lantern was able to conjure both human and animal spirits to do his bidding. He held the title of royal conjurer for the government of Rotterdam for 20 years before turning his unworldly invention towards the war to thwart evil. He discovered his namesake while exploring the underground catacombs of a burned out forgotten cathedral. From the moment he grasped the handle an otherworldly bond was formed, linking him to its dreadful powerful. With it he confronted and defeated such evil entities as Professor Mojo, Evil Comet, Major Marionette and the Dark Hell’s Ember. “

Etsy Dallas Spring Bash

(Moments before the doors opened, the only two clear shots of the set up for the next 6 hours.)

Last Saturday we were a part of the annual Etsy Dallas Spring Bash. We scored a great spot in the gallery space. It turned out to be a tremendous day with a steady stream of customers, new contacts from some great people and loads of sales. Word is the line started at 8 AM for the official 11 AM opening, all for a chance to receive a limited number of giveaway bags. Thanks to everyone who came out and made it a great day.

We were so busy for most of the day, I was only able to get away from the booth to take a couple of shots of the area towards the end. Earlier it was elbow to elbow.

Dynamic Duo-Pamela Michelle & Dowdy Studio

Check out the artistic styles of this creative couple. Pamela creates and designs wonderful original artwork in wood, on canvas and on paper. She’s also one of the driving forces behind the Etsy Dallas team. Dylan’s shop has a collection of iconic t-shirt designs that are both cleverly designed and great fun. Both will be at the upcoming Etsy Dallas Spring Bash craft event May 1st.

The above piece from her “Pea Pod” series is both clever and beautifully designed. Stephanie is a founder and tireless promoter of the Etsy Dallas team created in 2007. Thanks to her efforts, along with co-leaders Pamela Michelle and Carrie Partch, the biannual “Bash” Handmade Arts and Craft shows are a must attend event for area shoppers. If you live in or plan to visit the Dallas area soon, be sure and put the “Spring Bash” on your calendar for May 1st.
