Order of Nefarious Villains Card Set

The Order of Nefarious Villains serve as the evil counterpart to the Union of Superlative Heroes. Spawned from the dark recesses of spider pits and graveyard shadows, this collection of evil deviants inhabit the same parallel Steampunk Victorian universe as their heroic foes. 20 cards in the set, including the characters Professor Cephalopod, Sir Samuel Lodestone, Black Piranha, Feline Fräulein, Lord Venomous, King Congo plus 14 more. Each card showcases their portrait along with a brief description of their malevolent deeds, origins and abilities.

Imagining a parallel universe in which superheroes inhabit a Steampunk Victorian world, the Union of Superlative Heroes is a collection of characters from a variety of countries, each with their own unique abilities or mutations. Twenty cards in all, this set profiles such epic figures as Marquis Le Bat, Stupendous Gent, Empress Amazonia, Arachno Kid, Prince Aqueous, Lord Wolverton plus fourteen more. Etsy Dallas Jingle Bash

Etsy Dallas is hosting its 3rd Annual Jingle Bash, November 20th, 2pm-8pm in the Lone Star Room @ The Palladium, 1135 S. Lamar, Dallas. Literary Pets

Coming this fall from Half Price Books: a “Literary Pets” calendar. Twelve of my dog and cat as famous author portraits will adorn the interior, complete with the accompanying text I wrote for each. A calendar cover was commissioned however the above color cover will be relegated to a sepia version for their final product.

San Diego Comic Con

The big week is almost here! Next Wednesday kicks off The 2010 San Diego International Comic Con with preview night and runs through Sunday the 25th. I will have a booth in the Small Press Pavilion, Booth P-13 and it’ll be chock full of monkey bidness. The recently released “Society of Sinister Simians” book, both in paperback and signed limited edition hand bound hardback, “Monkey Color!” coloring books, “Twilight of the Tiki” book, “13 Incomplete Chapters of Mysterious Circumstances” book, Wrestle Pets book, signed posters and prints, a variety of pinback buttons(shiny!), stickers and trading cards representing The Society of Sinister Simians, Steampunk Monkey Nation, World War Monkey, Literary Pets and Wrestle Pets. The Society of Sinister Simians

“The Society of Sinister Simians” explores the mysterious world of an evil collection of vicious and power hungry primates that held sway over the land centuries ago. Thanks to the efforts of the ill-fated Sourcrust archeological dig of 1887, details of this foul organization have finally come to light. In this book you will learn of The Society’s immortal leader, his powerful and brutal cadre of ministers and advisors as well as a variety of assassins, spies, soldiers and frightful supernatural figures.

Just released: the paperback book, limited edition hardcover book and trading card set depicting members of a secret society quite sinister. Part Victorian, part Steampunk and all evil. 122 pages. 24 evil simians illustrated with extensive biographies. Map detailing the realm of sinister sway, weapons and medals galleries as well as an addendum of sinister ephemera. The hardback version is hand bound with a rich Flanders British Tan bonded leather covering, sewn pages and topped off with a custom gold foil stamp. Each is signed and numbered from an edition of 50. The trading card set includes the complete roster of evil membership with the added fun of a poster puzzle on the reverse.

A handful of new Wrestlepets will be unveiled soon, adding to the original set of 15. These will join the first pack of fur faced fighters in an upcoming new format.

We Are 1976

There’s a fantastic shop here in Dallas by the name of “We Are 1976.” They are set uniquely apart from 99% of the retail stores in the area by offering a wonderfully uncommon blend of artist made goods, books, art and toys. In addition, the owners Vynsie, Jully and Derek host a variety of workshops with artists that teach a range of techniques, from  learning bookbinding structures, screen printing and paper sculptures, just to name a few. Be sure and visit their site for a showcase of gift offerings and a schedule of art openings and workshop events. I’m proud to be a part of their inventory with my monkey and literary pets cigarette card sets.
