SDCC-Day 1

(A local San Diego news station included me at the end of a short piece about the event.)

The first full day of exhibiting proved to break our single day record of sales. We had lots of interest in the Simian Playing Card sets, the new Monkopolis book and the wooden badges. Here’s a few more shots of the show floor along with a couple of failed attempts to capture celebrity sightings.

My nephew Todd made his first trip to SDCC this year and fought the crowds proudly displaying his ChetArt “Monkey No Like” t-shirt.

The great Paul Horn a.k.a. “Cool Jerk” is a SDCC veteran with a fantastic sense of humor and incredible cartooning skills.

The uber talented Kim Hutsell, Steampunk master and artistic genius sports some of his superb design work.

My dismal failure to capture a shot of Brent Spiner, a.k.a Star Trek’s “Data” before he rushed away.

A variation of Where’s Waldo with Stan Lee. He did a signing right next to our table but the crowds made it impossible to get a clear shot. Yeah, he’s in there. Today’s “celebrity shots” cemented proof I will never be a successful paparazzi.

  1. You don’t have to be a successful paparazzi. You are a success artist which is MUCH better. I think the people watching is a huge part of the show.

  2. Hey ….you’re a ‘super starrr’ love all the pictures especially of the Toddster sporting your t shirt!! Looks like hectic fun!!
